My name is Kaaren. I am a 20-something female who enjoys doing accents and impressions, learning language, reading historical fiction, writing a children's books, reading about culture and how to combat racism and learning about nutrition. I'm in a weird transition right now- finding definition with no career.
I still consider myself a teacher and miss being in the classroom but don't miss the politics. After four years of teaching and a move, I spent two months unemployed, three months as a recruiter, and then another three months unemployed. I decided one day that instead of moping around the house accepting calls from HR saying something like, "You did great in the interview, but a referral took the job! We'd love to interview you for another position soon!" that I would blog about my job searching experience. And this way I get to use my goofy illustrations, too.
